Jassem Busaibe: Career of the Former CEO of Aldar Investment
Editorial

Jassem Saleh Busaibe was the chief executive of Aldar Investment, the income-generating arm of Abu Dhabi developer Aldar Properties, until he stepped down in 2026. Earlier versions of this article described him as the current CEO. That was out of date: Enterprise reported on 12 June 2026 that Aldar had disclosed his resignation to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.
The resignation
According to that report, Busaibe will stay on in a support role while Aldar works through succession, and the company says it will announce leadership arrangements in due course. The report does not give a reason, describes a 27-year career and does not name a successor.
Earlier career
Profiles say he spent seven years at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority as a portfolio manager focused on European equities, was a senior vice president for private equity at Invest AD, was chief financial officer of SENAAT, and earlier was chief executive of Arady Properties. Aldar’s own executive biography says he joined Aldar in 2016 as Chief Investment Officer.
The 2019 appointment
In 2019 Aldar Investments announced his appointment as CEO on the same day it announced that it would take full ownership of Etihad Plaza and Etihad Airways Centre from Etihad for Dh1.2 billion, according to Gulf Business and Gulf News. The properties had been held in three 50/50 joint ventures between Aldar and Etihad, and Etihad took full ownership of its headquarters as part of the deal. Aldar said it would assume the existing debt and keep leverage within its policy of 35% to 40% loan-to-value. The deal was described as the first major transaction for Aldar Investments, which began operations in September 2018.
What we could not confirm
We could not find a published source for his university qualifications, so we do not state them. Aldar’s website and its filings are the best sources for his current status and for Aldar’s portfolio figures.
