The UAE National Education Charter aims to create a unified national education framework that aligns school curricula with the country’s cultural identity, values, and long-term economic goals.
According to the UAE Ministry of Education, the charter outlines the profile of the future Emirati graduate, emphasizing innovation, critical thinking, technological literacy, and leadership skills that are essential in the global knowledge economy.
The framework also strengthens coordination between schools, universities, and government institutions to ensure that education policies support the UAE’s broader economic diversification strategy.

The launch of the charter coincided with UAE Education Day, which commemorates the graduation of the first cohort of teachers from United Arab Emirates University in 1982.

New Education Initiatives

Authorities also announced changes to admission age requirements for kindergarten and Grade 1 to better reflect developmental considerations for young students.
In addition, a new outcomes-based evaluation framework has been introduced for higher education institutions to improve performance monitoring and academic standards.
