Intella Raises $12.5 Million Series A for Arabic Speech AI

Intella, an Arabic speech-intelligence company headquartered in Riyadh, announced a $12.5 million Series A round in September 2025, according to Middle East AI News and Mubasher.

The round

Prosus Ventures led the round, with 500 Global, Wa’ed Ventures, Hala Ventures, Idrisi Ventures and HearstLab taking part. The company says it has raised more than $16.9 million in total. Funding is earmarked for research and development, product expansion and hiring, with a focus on Saudi Arabia and Egypt. An earlier $3.4 million pre-Series A was announced in October 2023, led by Hala Ventures and Wa’ed Ventures, according to Wamda.

The company

Intella was founded in 2021 by Nour AlTaher (spelled “Nour Taher” by some outlets) and Omar Mansour, who is listed as chief technology officer. One report says it moved its headquarters from Cairo to Riyadh in 2023. Its products are described on its website.

What it does

Intella builds speech-to-text and speech-analytics tools for Arabic, including its conversational AI agent Ziila. Coverage says the models handle more than 25 Arabic dialects, and its technology recently powered a voice-ordering feature for the e-commerce platform Jumia. Customers are reported to include banks, telecom operators and government clients in the region.

The accuracy claim

Reports say Intella’s Arabic speech-to-text models reach about 95.7% accuracy, with one outlet giving 95.73% and describing it as a global record that outperforms established competitors. This is the company’s own claim, and we have not seen an independent benchmark. Accuracy depends on the dialect, the audio quality and how it is measured.

Growth

The company says it more than doubled its revenue in 2024 and projected seven-fold growth in 2025. These are company statements and we have not verified them.
