At Disruptors Digest we want you to trust us with your information. This page explains in plain language what we collect, how we use it and how we protect it. We are based in the UAE and aim to handle personal data in line with applicable UAE data-protection law.
Information you give us
- Account: your name, email address, password (stored in protected form), account type and the profile details you add (title, company, industry, emirate, short bio, and optionally website, LinkedIn, experience and phone).
- Submissions: the companies, people, articles and jobs you submit, and the sources and contact details they contain.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or forms.
- Sign in with Google (optional): if you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and a Google account identifier with us (see “Signing in with Google” below).
- Payments: when you buy a package, our payment provider collects your payment details. We do not store card numbers. We keep a record of the order (package, amount, date, reference).
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, approximate location and pages visited.
- Cookies that keep you signed in and help the site work, and analytics that show us how the site is used.
Signing in with Google
You can create an account or sign in with your Google account instead of a password. This is optional.
- What Google shares with us: your name, your email address (which Google confirms is verified) and a unique Google account identifier. We ask only for the basic profile and email permissions. We do not receive your Google password, and we cannot read your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive or other Google data.
- What we do with it: we use it to create your account, recognise you when you sign in again, confirm your email address and keep your account secure. We store your name, email address and the Google identifier with your account. We do not store your Google profile picture, and we do not use this information for advertising or sell it.
- Google’s role: when you use Google sign-in, Google processes your data under its own Privacy Policy, and Google will know that you signed in to Disruptors Digest.
- Stopping it: you can remove Disruptors Digest’s access at any time in your Google Account under Third-party apps & services. To close your account and have the data we hold deleted, email us.
What becomes public
Company, person and job details you submit are published only after approval. Articles are published with a byline. Your account email, password and private profile details are never shown publicly.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and to send the confirmation email.
- To review and publish your submissions and to contact you about them.
- To process purchases and send receipts.
- To prevent spam, fraud and abuse.
- To improve the site and understand what readers value.
- To send newsletters or updates, only if you opt in.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting, email and payment providers), with authorities where the law requires it, and as needed to protect our users and site. If you choose Google sign-in, Google acts as an identity provider, and we share nothing with Google beyond what is needed to complete the sign-in.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, keep the site secure and understand usage. A short-lived security cookie is also set while you sign in with Google. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the site that need you to be signed in will not work.
Security
We use secure servers, encrypted connections (SSL), access controls and email confirmation for new accounts. No online system is completely risk-free, but we work to protect your data.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as needed to run the service, meet legal requirements and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data.
Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and unsubscribe from emails at any time. Email [email protected] and we will help.
Children
The site is for a professional audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Where data is processed
Disruptors Digest is a global platform and some service providers process data outside the UAE. We are located in the UAE.
